Straight answers about how New Tides works, what it costs, and who it is for. Anything here that is a medical decision is still a medical decision — made by a licensed physician who has read your history.
What is New Tides?
New Tides is a physician-led telehealth practice offering medical weight management online. A licensed physician reviews your health history and, if treatment is appropriate, prescribes it; a licensed U.S. pharmacy fills it and ships it to your door. New Tides is a medical practice, not a pharmacy.
Is New Tides legitimate?
Yes. New Tides is LegitScript certified, which means an independent reviewer verified our licensing, our pharmacy partners and how we operate. You can check the certification yourself through the LegitScript seal on any page of this site.
Which states does New Tides serve?
New Tides serves patients in 45 states and Washington, D.C. You must be physically located in a state we serve at the time of your visit. The full list is on our Where we operate page.
How does New Tides work?
You complete a secure online health questionnaire, a licensed physician reviews it, and if treatment is right for you they write a prescription that ships from a licensed U.S. pharmacy. If it is not right for you, they will tell you why. You then check in with your care team through your patient portal.
Do I need a video visit?
In most states, no — your evaluation is completed through the online intake. District of Columbia, Louisiana and Mississippi require one. A few other states require a live visit for your first prescription only, with follow-ups online. Your physician may also ask for a visit in any state if they need more information.
How much does New Tides cost?
$200 for semaglutide and $250 for tirzepatide, per prescription. That price includes the consultation with your physician, the medication, FedEx 2-day delivery once the pharmacy fills it, and ongoing messaging with your care team. There is no separate pharmacy bill.
Does New Tides take insurance?
No — New Tides is self-pay, and no insurance is required. There is no membership fee and no subscription; you pay per prescription.
When am I charged?
You are charged when your physician actually sends a prescription — not when you sign up, and not on a schedule. You save a card during sign-up, and it is not charged until there is a prescription to pay for. If your physician decides treatment is not right for you, you are not charged for medication.
How do I stop treatment?
Tell us in your patient portal, under Account. Nothing recurs — your card is only ever charged when a prescription is sent — so stopping means your physician will not send another one. It does not refund a prescription already on its way.
What medications does New Tides prescribe?
Physician-prescribed GLP-1 medications for weight management, when they are medically appropriate for you. Which one, and at what dose, is a decision your physician makes after reading your history — it is not something you choose from a menu.
Does New Tides prescribe peptides?
Yes, when a physician determines it is appropriate for you. The peptides New Tides may prescribe are BPC-157, TB-500, MOTS-c, Epitalon, Semax and KPV, each by a specific route. They are prescription medicines, decided on after a real evaluation.
Are compounded medications FDA-approved?
No. Compounded medications are prepared by a licensed pharmacy for an individual patient and are not FDA-approved, which means the FDA has not reviewed them for safety, effectiveness or quality. Your physician will explain the difference before you start.
Who should not take GLP-1 medications?
They are not right for everyone. Your physician will rule them out for a number of histories, including a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN2, a history of pancreatitis, and pregnancy or breastfeeding. The intake asks about all of this before a physician sees it.
What are the common side effects?
The ones reported most often are nausea, constipation, diarrhoea and reduced appetite, and they are most common when starting or increasing a dose. Message your care team if you have one and they will help you manage it. This is not a complete list — read the Important Safety Information, and for a medical emergency call 911.
How quickly will I get my medication?
Prescriptions ship FedEx 2-day once the pharmacy fills them. That clock starts when the pharmacy dispatches, not when you finish your intake — a physician reviews you first.
Is my health information private?
Yes. New Tides follows HIPAA and stores your health information on encrypted systems. We do not sell it, and we do not share your intake answers with advertising platforms — no tracking of any kind runs on the pages where you give us health information.
How do I contact New Tides?
Current patients should message their care team in the patient portal, which is the fastest route and the one that reaches a clinician. For anything else, email care@newtides.com or call (877) 89-TIDES, Monday–Friday, 8am–8pm CT.
Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and are not reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness, or quality.
