What New Tides does — and doesn't — do
We provide the care. A pharmacy prepares the medication.
New Tides is a telehealth platform. We provide the evaluation, the provider relationship, the prescription, and your ongoing care. We do not manufacture, compound, sell, or ship medication. Your medication is prepared and dispensed by a licensed pharmacy that operates under federal and state pharmacy law.
What you pay for

Your New Tides membership is $199/month, all cash — no insurance, no surprise bills. It includes:

- Lab review
- Patient portal & tracking
- Prescriptions — month one and ongoing months
Your medicationis prepared and billed separately by the pharmacy, which sets its price. The cost of your care and the cost of your medication are two different things, and we'll always show you both.
Many medications offered through New Tides are compounded — prepared for you individually by a licensed pharmacy rather than mass-manufactured. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved.

Is this legal?
Yes. Compounding is a long-established, regulated part of pharmacy practice. Compounding pharmacies operate under Section 503A of the federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and are licensed by their state board of pharmacy. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, which means they're overseen through the pharmacy-compounding system rather than the new-drug approval system.
Who prescribes my medication?
A licensed provider, after reviewing your health information — only if it's appropriate for you.
Are these medications FDA-approved?
Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. For some, the active ingredient is FDA-approved as a branded product, but the compounded version is not. We label the FDA status of every medication on our site.
How do I know if I’m eligible?
Eligibility is decided during the intake — before you pay. The intake asks a series of yes/no health questions, and if your answers mean a treatment isn't safe or appropriate for you, you're screened out before any membership charge. Once you complete the intake and start your membership, you're eligible for care — and which specific compounded medication is right for you is then decided together by you and your provider.
