Whether you need a live video or audio visit with your physician depends on the rules in the state where you live. We route you automatically when you sign up — you do not have to figure this out — but here is how it breaks down.
A visit is required for every encounter
In these states you meet your physician by live video (or audio) for your first visit and for every follow-up.
A visit is required for your first encounter only
In these states your first encounter is a live video (or audio) visit. After that, follow-ups can be handled by your physician without a visit.
No visit is required
In these states your physician can review your information and prescribe without a live visit, for both your first encounter and your follow-ups. You can still request a video visit any time — it is included in your plan.
